About this rug

This rug borrows the palmettes, lotus rosettes and scrolling vines of classic Persian floral carpets and lays them on a cream field, mirrored down the center and framed by one plain honey-gold band. The flowers are drawn in warm brown with muted teal, gold, slate and small touches of rust, so it reads light and warm from across a room and shows more color up close. It is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool face on a canvas backing. The medium cut pile stands 0.39" tall and the rug is 0.87" thick overall, soft underfoot and matte. It sheds at first and settles with regular vacuuming without a beater bar. There is no grip back, so plan on a rug pad. It suits living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, in sizes from 2' × 3' to 12' × 15' with runners, rounds, squares, ovals and custom sizes. The size sold as 8x10 measures 7'6" × 9'6", so measure your space against the real size. The motifs keep their size, so small rugs show fewer of them, and the runners and smallest rug carry a simpler drawing. Expect it a shade darker in person than the studio photo. Spot clean only with mild detergent; it is not washable. Keep it out of strong sun, rotate it now and then, and measure the gap under any door it must clear. The largest sizes take two people to move.
