About this rug

This rug takes a classic Persian-style layout and draws it in warm, clear color. Palmettes, rosettes and feathery leaves sit on thin vines across a rust-red field, with open ground between them. A wide slate blue-gray border of large blooms frames the field, edged by ivory guard bands with a small repeat. Gold, cream, dusty rose and brown pick out the details. It is hand-tufted in India from 100% wool, with a medium pile about 0.39 in deep on a canvas back. The pile is soft underfoot. The rug is just under an inch thick overall, so it sits a little tall at a door. Like new wool rugs generally, it sheds at first. The design suits a traditional living room, dining room, bedroom or study, and the blue-gray border ties in with slate, navy and gray furniture. Sizes run from 2' x 3' up to 12' x 15', with runners, rounds, squares, ovals and a half-circle, and custom sizes can be ordered. The 8' x 10' rectangle measures 7'6" x 9'6", 6 in smaller each way than the name. Spot clean only with mild detergent. A cushioned felt pad keeps it in place. Keep it out of strong direct sun, since the dyes are not fade resistant.
