About this rug

This is a traditional Persian-style rug with a dark brown field of palmettes, rosettes and long feathered leaves, tied together by fine blue-gray vines. A wide ivory border carries more flowers, framed by olive guard bands and a brown outer edge. Touches of burgundy, red, dusty rose and black pick out the blooms. It is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool pile about 0.39 in deep on a canvas backing, 0.87 in thick overall. The pile is soft underfoot. Like most wool rugs, it sheds at first and settles with regular vacuuming. Sizes run from an 18 in sample and a 2' x 3' mat up to 12' x 15', with runners, rounds, squares, ovals and a half-circle. The size sold as 8' x 10' measures 7'6" x 9'6", and the 10' round and square measure 9'9". Custom sizes are made to order from 1' up to 20' x 30'. The back has no grip, so use a cushioned felt pad. Spot clean only with mild detergent, and keep it out of strong sun. It suits a living room, dining room or bedroom with wood furniture and warm light.
