About this rug
This hand-tufted rug takes a classic Oushak design and softens it into sage green, camel, ivory and a touch of blush. Large palmettes and rosettes fill the field, and fine ivory lines cross between them. The ornament still reads from across a room, but the low contrast keeps it calm. It sits easily between classic and modern furniture. The face is 100% wool in a 0.5 in medium pile. The motifs are tufted in a fuller yarn that stands a little above the sage ground. It is soft underfoot and rated for high traffic. The back is canvas, the rug is 0.75 in thick overall, and it is made in India. It suits a living room, dining room or bedroom with warm wood, linen and brass. Sizes run from 2' × 3' to 9' × 12', and custom sizes and rounds can be ordered. The 5' × 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5' × 8'. Spot clean only, with water only. Expect some shedding at first. Keep it out of strong sun, and use a felt-and-rubber pad to hold it in place.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
