About this rug
This hand-tufted rug takes a classic Oushak-style layout of large palmettes, rosettes and thin scrolling vines and washes it into sandy tan and cream. Small touches of sage and caramel sit inside the flowers. The pattern runs to the edges with no border, so it reads as an easy all-over floral rather than a formal frame. The face is 100% wool with a 1/2 in pile. The rug is 3/4 in thick overall with a canvas back. It is hand tufted in India and rated for high traffic. Expect some shedding at first, as with most hand-tufted wool. The low-contrast palette works with warm woods, linen upholstery and soft whites, and it bridges classic and modern furniture. The 8' x 10' fits an 84 in sofa with chairs, front legs on, or a 6-seat table. The 9' x 12' also fits a king bed or an 8-seat table. The 5' x 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5' x 8'. Custom sizes and rounds are available. Spot clean only, with water only. The rug has no grip back, so use a felt-and-rubber pad, and keep it out of strong sun.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
