About this rug
A dark green wool field, crossed by pairs of fine light gray lines that meet in large squares. It is a windowpane plaid pared down to pinstripes. The lines look cut into the pile, so the pattern reads clean and tailored rather than busy. The rug is hand tufted in India from 100% wool, with a medium pile about 0.39 in high and 0.59 in thick overall, on a canvas back. The wool feels soft and dense underfoot, and it is rated for high traffic. Like most tufted wool rugs, it sheds at first. The deep color grounds a living room, bedroom or study. It sits well with warm wood, leather, brass and soft blush or tan upholstery. It comes in sizes from 2' x 3' to 12' x 15', a 3' x 10' runner and an 18" sample; the 5x8 size measures 5' x 7'6". Custom sizes run up to 12' x 18', rounds included. Spot clean only, with a mild detergent. Keep it out of strong direct sun, and use a cushioned felt pad, since the back has no grip.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
