About this rug
This rug is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool face. The warm cream ground is cut pile. A loose maze of hand-drawn lines is worked in a lower loop pile, a shade darker in light beige. Up close the lines read clearly. From across a room the rug looks like one warm cream with a soft, carved texture. The pile is 0.6 in high, and the rug is 0.9 in thick overall on a canvas back, so it feels soft and full underfoot. Wool sheds at first. The back has no grip, so plan on a felt-and-rubber pad. It suits an organic modern living room or bedroom with light wood, linen and soft neutrals. Stock sizes run from 2' × 3' to 9' × 12', plus an 18" sample. The 5' × 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a 5' × 8'. Custom sizes can be made from 1' to 12' wide and up to 18' long, rounds included, and take about 7 months. Spot clean only, with water only. Keep it out of strong sun, since the wool is not made to resist fading.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
