About this rug
This is a hand-tufted wool rug in a deep, warm brown. The design is a maze of straight lines drawn with a loose hand, some running long, some folding into blocks and steps. The lines sit at a different pile height from the ground and read a shade lighter, so the pattern comes from texture rather than a second color. From across the room it reads as one calm brown. Up close, and in low side light, the lines stand out and the carved surface shows. The face is 100% wool at a medium 0.6 in pile, about 0.9 in thick overall, on a canvas backing. It is made in India. It suits a modern living room, a bedroom or a dining room that wants warmth and depth without a busy print. The 8' × 10' fits an 84 in sofa with chairs, front legs on, or a six-seat table. The 9' × 12' takes a king bed or an eight-seat table. The 5' × 7'6" runs 6 in shorter than a standard 5' × 8'. Custom sizes and rounds are available. Spot clean only, with water only. Expect some shedding at first, and keep it out of strong sun. A felt-and-rubber pad keeps it in place.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
