About this rug
This rug is a modern broken stripe. Three panels run its length, each filled with short bands of heathered sage green and soft cream. The center panel is shifted half a band, so every seam steps like brickwork. There is no border and no fringe, so the stripe runs right to the edge. It is hand-tufted in India, with a 100% wool face on a canvas backing. The pile is a medium 0.31 in, and the rug is 0.51 in thick overall. Up close, the cream bands are tight rows of small loops and the sage bands are a fuller, fuzzier pile, all matte. It is soft underfoot and rated for high traffic. Like any new tufted wool rug, it sheds at first. Sizes run from a 2' × 3' mat and a 2'6" × 8' runner to 5' × 7'6", 8' × 10' and 9' × 12', plus an 18" sample. Custom sizes and rounds are made to order in about 147 days. The 8' × 10' fits a 7' sofa group or a queen bed set crosswise, and the runner suits a dry hallway. The back has no grip, so use a rug pad on hard floors. At 0.51 in thick, check the gap under doors. Care is professional rug cleaning only. It is not washable, so it suits dry rooms rather than kitchens or baths.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
