About this rug
This rug is ivory wool from edge to edge, and its design lives in the pile. Fine ribs change direction from section to section to form a wide center field, a tonal frame around it, a plain edge and small nested corners. From across the room it reads as one soft color. Up close and in side light, the frame comes forward. It is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool face on a canvas backing. The pile is about 1/3 inch high and the rug is about 1/2 inch thick, so it feels soft underfoot without being plush. Like most wool rugs, it sheds some at first. The minimalist look suits a living room or bedroom with warm wood, linen and bouclé, and it leaves room for art and color elsewhere. Sizes run from 2' × 3' to 10' × 14', plus a 2'6" × 8' runner, and custom sizes and rounds are available. The 5' × 7'6" is 6 inches shorter than a standard 5' × 8'. Care is professional rug cleaning only. Use a cushioned felt pad to keep it in place, and keep it out of strong direct sun.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
