About this rug

This rug is one large abstract composition in the mid-century modern spirit. Curved cut-paper shapes and straight-edged blocks fit together across the whole rug, in charcoal, light gray, mid gray, light beige, mustard gold and aqua. The charcoal blocks carry the most weight, so the rug reads bold from across the room. It is hand-tufted with a 100% wool face on a canvas backing. The medium pile is 0.39 in and the rug is 0.86 in thick overall, so it feels soft underfoot. Fine carved lines run between the color areas and keep each shape crisp. Like most wool tufted rugs, it sheds at first. It is made in India. It suits a living room with walnut or teak furniture, a den or a bedroom where the rug is the main pattern. Rectangles run from 2' x 3' to 12' x 15'. It also comes in runners, rounds and squares, and custom sizes can be ordered. The 7'6" x 9'6" is 6 in shorter each way than a standard 8' x 10'. The back has no grip, so lay it on a felt-and-rubber pad. Spot clean only, with water only. Keep it out of strong sun, since the colors can fade.
