About this rug
This rug keeps things simple. The ivory field is flecked with fine tan and light brown strié, and a plain tan band runs across each short end. From across the room it reads as one soft, warm ivory, with the bands giving the ends a clean finish. It is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool face and a medium pile about 0.4 in deep, 0.6 in thick overall, on a canvas backing. The surface is nubby and soft underfoot, and the rug is rated for high traffic. Expect some shedding at first, as with most wool rugs. It sits well in a calm, modern living room, a bedroom or under a dining table, next to light wood, linen and cream upholstery. Sizes are 2'×3', 5'×7'6", 8'×10' and 9'×12', plus an 18" sample. The 5'×7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5'×8'. Care is professional rug cleaning only. Use a felt-and-rubber pad to keep it in place, and keep it out of strong, direct sun, since the wool is not fade resistant.

How this rug is made, and what it is made of
Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
