About this rug
This rug is a checkerboard of sage green and cream squares, hand tufted with a 100% wool face. Each square is drawn a little uneven at the edges, so the grid reads soft and hand-made. From across a room it looks like a calm, modern check. Up close, the wool shows a gentle mottle in both colors. The medium pile stands 0.31 in on a canvas backing and is 0.51 in thick overall. It is soft underfoot and rated for high traffic, so it works in a living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway. Wool sheds at first. The back has no grip, so lay it on a cushioned felt pad. It comes in 2' × 3', 5' × 7'6", 6' × 9', 8' × 10' and 9' × 12', plus a 2'6" × 8' runner. Custom sizes run from 2' to 10' wide and 3' to 14' long, and round is possible. The 5' × 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5' × 8'. Spot clean only, with water only. The wool is not fade resistant, so keep the rug out of strong direct sun.

How this rug is made, and what it is made of
Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
