About this rug

This rug takes its look from Beni Ourain weaving. It has a warm cream ground with thin, loose black lines that wander and cross into open diamonds. The lines are drawn by hand, so no two lozenges match, and black-and-cream striped bands finish the two ends. It is hand tufted in India from 100% wool on a canvas backing. The pile is low, about 0.19 in, and the rug is 0.39 in thick, so it sits close to the floor. It is pet friendly and rated for high traffic. Robot vacuums cross it easily, and so do rolling chairs over a firm pad. Expect some shedding at first, as with most wool. Sizes run from a 2' x 3' mat and a 2'6" x 8' runner up to 12' x 15'. Custom sizes and rounds can be made to order, with a long lead time. The 5' x 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5' x 8'. The quiet pattern works in a bedroom, living room or dining room. Spot clean only, with water only. Keep it out of strong sun, since the colors are not fade resistant, and use a pad, since the back has no grip.
