About this rug
This is a traditional rug drawn in the manner of Persian rugs. A deep red field is covered edge to edge with palmettes, rosettes, leaves and fine curling vines in gold, tan, olive and cream. It sits inside a wide black border of flowers and buds, with narrow gold guard stripes on both sides and a thin red band around the outer edge. It is hand tufted in India from 100% wool, with a 0.5 in medium pile on a canvas backing, about 0.7 in thick overall. The wool is soft underfoot. It sheds at first, as new hand-tufted wool does. Sizes run from a 2' × 3' mat and two runners up to 12' × 15', plus an 8' square and an 8' round. Custom sizes and rounds can be made. It suits a dining room, a formal living room, a study or a long hall, and it adds warmth to a pale, modern entry. There is no grip on the back, so lay it on a cushioned felt pad. Care is professional rug cleaning only. It is not solution dyed, so keep it out of strong direct sun.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
