About this rug

This rug keeps things quiet. An ivory field carries a fine beige grid, and a frame of thin tan lines steps in from the edge on all four sides. Up close the grid gives the surface a woven, tactile look. From across the room it settles into a soft cream. It is hand-tufted in India from 100% wool, with a low 0.3 in pile and a total thickness of 0.5 in. It feels soft underfoot, sits low under furniture, and is pet friendly and rated for high traffic. Like most wool rugs, it sheds at first. There is no grip on the back, so a thin grip pad keeps it flat and in place. It suits a modern living room, a calm bedroom or a dining room that needs warmth without pattern. Sizes run from 5' × 7'6" to 9' × 12'. Custom sizes and rounds are made to order, and an 18" sample lets you check the color at home. Care is limited to spot cleaning with water only. It is not washable and not fade resistant, so keep it out of strong sun.

How this rug is made, and what it is made of

Construction

Hand tufted

Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material

Wool

Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
