About this rug
Rows of upright flowering plants stand on a warm cream field, drawn in the manner of Indian block prints. Sprays of muted terracotta and dusty rose blooms alternate with round pale peach flowers on sage stems. A layered border of an ivory sprig band, a pale green scalloped band and a plain sand edge frames the field. Every plant stands upright, so the design has a top. In warm light the cream reads closer to light beige. It is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool face and a canvas back. The low 0.28 in pile has a pebbly, looped look, like a hooked rug, and feels firm rather than plush underfoot. It is 0.51 in thick, with no fringe. It suits a cottage or soft traditional living room, bedroom or dining room. The 8' × 10' fits an 84" sofa with chairs, front legs on, or a queen bed set crosswise; the 9' × 12' takes a larger group, a king bed or an eight-seat table. It is rated for high traffic, but the small loops can catch pet claws. Spot clean only, with water only; it is not washable. New wool sheds at first, so vacuum without a beater bar. It is not fade resistant, so keep it out of strong sun. The canvas back has no grip: use a thin grip pad, and check the gap under nearby doors. It arrives rolled; the 9' × 12' weighs about 70 lb.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
