About this rug
This hand-tufted rug takes its drawing from the Oushak tradition: large flame palmettes, rosettes and fan-shaped blossoms joined by a loose lattice of vines. The design is mirrored both ways, so it has no top. Bone cream, sand and warm off-white draw the pattern, with small camel-brown and blush-peach touches, on a heathered gray field framed by a narrow vine border. The gray has a faint blue cast but is not a true blue. The face is 100% wool in a low 0.28-inch pile, and the rug is 0.55 inch thick overall. It is made in India and rated for high traffic. Underfoot it is dense and firm rather than plush, with a matte, nubby surface. The canvas back has no grip, so use a rug pad on hard floors. Most doors clear about 0.4 inch, so measure the gap first. Sizes run from 2' × 3' to 12' × 15', with a 2'6" × 8' runner, 6' and 8' rounds and custom sizes. The 5' × 7'6" is 6 inches shorter than a 5' × 8'. The 8' × 10' suits an 84-inch sofa with chairs or a queen bed set crosswise. It ships rolled, and the large sizes take two people to move. Spot clean with water only; it is not washable. New wool sheds at first, so vacuum without a beater bar. It is not solution-dyed, so keep it out of strong sun.

Size: Every rug is made by hand, so it can come out a little larger or smaller than the listed size. A difference of up to 5 inches in length or width is normal for a handmade rug.
Color: Colors on your screen may not match the rug exactly. Display settings, your device and the lighting in your room all change how a color looks. We keep our photos as close to the real rug as we can.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
