About this rug
This hand-tufted rug has a 100% wool face in a dusty blue, drawn with a fine grid of navy lines and flecks of brighter blue. Up close, the lines mark out small squares. From across a room, the rug reads as one soft, mottled blue, which gives a room color without adding pattern. The pile is low, about 0.3 in, and the rug is about 0.5 in thick, so it sits flat and feels soft underfoot. A canvas backing holds its shape. The back has no grip, so a thin rug pad keeps it in place. Like most new wool rugs, it sheds a little at first. It makes a calm base for a living room, bedroom or study. Sizes run from a 2' x 3' at the door to a 9' x 12' under a full seating group. The 5' x 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5' x 8'. Custom sizes up to 12' x 15' and rounds can be ordered. The color is solution-dyed, so it holds up in a sunny room. Care is professional rug cleaning only.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
