About this rug
This rug takes the Oushak palmette and softens it. Light gray and wheat blooms, some with a small diamond at the heart, spread evenly over an oatmeal ground. There is no border, so the design runs right to the edge. The contrast is low, so from across the room it reads as a warm neutral with a quiet pattern. It is hand tufted in India with a 100% wool face on a canvas back. The pile is low at 0.2 in, and the rug is 0.39 in thick overall. The motifs stand a little proud of the ground in a looser, nubbier pile that you can see and feel. It is firm underfoot rather than plush. It suits a living room, dining room or bedroom that wants pattern without noise. It is rated for high traffic and is pet friendly and robot-vacuum friendly. The solution-dyed yarn is fade resistant. Expect some shedding at first. The back has no grip, so lay it on a thin grip pad. Care is spot clean only, with no moisture. Sizes run from a 1'6" sample to 9' × 12'. The 5' × 7'6" is 6 in shorter than a standard 5' × 8'. Custom sizes and rounds can be made.

Construction
Hand tufted
Yarn is punched through a canvas with a hand-held tufting tool, then sheared to an even, plush pile and backed for strength. It has the look and feel of a knotted rug, made in weeks rather than months, at a gentler price.

Material
Wool
Naturally springy, so the pile stands back up after furniture and footsteps. Its lanolin helps it shed spills and dirt, it holds deep color for decades, and New Zealand wool, used in many of our rugs, is among the softest grades.
